About the summit

The room where India’s energy future gets built.

India Renewable Energy Summit 2027 (IRES 2027) is a national platform for the people who finance, build and regulate India’s clean energy transition. One day, one room, and an agenda built around what actually has to happen next.

What IRES is

India Renewable Energy Summit 2027 is a focused national summit on policy, investment and innovation in India’s renewable energy sector. It brings policymakers, ministers, global delegations, project developers, financiers, manufacturers and researchers into the same conversation on 9 January 2027 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

The 2027 theme is India Renewable Rise — From self-reliance to global leadership. The framing is deliberate. India is no longer only adopting clean energy technology; it is building the manufacturing base, the finance architecture and the diplomatic coalitions that shape how the transition happens globally.

Why it exists

India has committed to 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030 and net zero by 2070. Those are national targets, but they are delivered through thousands of decisions: land allocations, power purchase agreements, transmission corridors, storage tenders, module factories and financing structures.

IRES exists to put the people making those decisions in one room, with enough time for the conversations that a trade-show floor does not allow.

The 2027 agenda

Five ideas frame the day.

Every session at IRES 2027 connects back to one of these themes.

01

Self-reliance first

Indigenously developed solar, wind and hydro capacity is cutting import dependency and strengthening national energy security.

02

500 GW by 2030

The world's most ambitious renewable energy target. Already past 200 GW, India is on track to set a global precedent for rapid clean energy scaling.

03

South-South leadership

India exports clean energy expertise, technology and capital to 60+ developing nations through ISA, OSOWOG and bilateral green energy corridors.

04

Innovation ecosystem

From green hydrogen to grid-scale storage, India is building next-generation clean technology and 10 million green jobs by 2030.

05

Climate justice champion

India advocates for equitable climate finance, so developing nations are not penalised for historical emissions they did not cause.

How we handle facts

Energy statistics age quickly. Where this site cites capacity, investment or policy figures, they are drawn from public sources such as the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the Central Electricity Authority, NITI Aayog and the International Energy Agency.

We publish the source line alongside the numbers, and we revise figures when the underlying data changes. If you spot something that looks out of date, write to marketing@indiasrenewableenergysummit.com and we will correct it.

Registration is open. Delegate and student passes include access to every session, lunch and the networking programme. See fees and inclusions.
